GEORGE TOLD ME I WAS HOT LAST NIGHT slipper chair n ottoman

I started writing this post several days ago
just as something was hitting me and hitting me hard,
which Ill explain at the end.
I completed this slipper chair with the help of
my sister awhile back, that post can be seen here.
The purchasers of this chair also requested a matching ottoman.
Taya and Matt are a lovely young couple and repeat customers.
I had the matching fabric and a couple of useful pieces waiting for redo.
The question would be ... would one of them work?
Attempt one, was too small,
Attempt two, was too tall,
Attempt three, was just right.
If you look closely you might realize this ottoman was made from
the only salvageable part of another arm chair, with great legs.
Ive been MIA for the last few days due to a case of severe strep
throat. If you have ever been afflicted with this condition I now
understand and sympathize. I couldnt talk, eat, swallow, and the
worst part for me was not thinking straight due to a high fever for
36hrs straight. After a midnight visit to the hospital and high doses
of medication, the doc says it will take a few more days till I
started to feel normal again and Im still having trouble eating and
drinking but Im definitely back, with a funny sounding voice.

GARBAGE WEEK A SISTER AND A STRANGER french slipper chair

It started with an email from a stranger.
Hi I have seen your posts and love what you do. It is "junk day"
pick up tomorrow. Anyway my neighbor has a credenza and table
out. French Provincial style. Free for the pick up. If interested
you need to come soon Let me know and I could get it for you.
Any ideas what we did next?
but those items youll have to wait to see.
The subject of this post is about the next day
and my loving sister coming out to see what
 else could be found.
We had a late morning start, bad traffic, and a
doctors appointment for the nephews we had to be
back for, leaving us with only 30 minutes to scour
 the road sides for treasures.
Did I mention it was pouring rain?
She saw the chair first but we couldnt stop because of
traffic so it would have to wait till we came back this way.
BEFORE
DURING
Needless to say we got it.
Ill never forget my sister, 55 135lbs picking this
chair up and running across the busy road before a
 semi truck barrelled past.
  • dropcloth? skirting
  • white cord trim from a fancy comforter
  • upholstery is from a heavy weight duvet cover
  • double welting from the same duvet cover
Im always buying new and beautiful bed covers. A lot of themare heavy weight, good quality, and sometimes vintage. So when I needto upholster something the first place I look is my linen stash.
If you want to read about the cute little table in the
pictures it can be found here
