Annie Sloan chalk paint in French Linen. It is absolutely my color of the moment. I have always loved neutrals and this is a neutral that will mix with any other colors you have going on without being the same old white or black. It is a grey that is soothing and warm and suddenly, I gotta paint everything in it!
I have posted here a dresser I painted in French Linen. It was first painted with primer and after distressing, the primer peeks through. I just love that look!
I dontated this dresser to the silent auction at my sons school, but I have another dresser I am starting that I am going to do in the same finish so I can offer it for sale through my Etsy shop. Look for it soon along with an upcoming post of how to do this finish:)

Yesterday I showed you the *BEFORE* of a
little french chair I was working on this week.
The inspiration for this piece started last month in Florida.
We found a gorgeous little shop in St. Petersburg called
The shop is filled with distressed shabby chic furniture,
linens, pillows, chandeliers, and a lot more eye candy.
The first thing George did once inside was
approach the shop keepers and jokingly said "Ill
be back in a couple hours to pick her up"
He then continued chatting and joking with them as usual
while I ran around taking pictures of everything I could.
I just adored these chenille upholstered benches they had.

You can see more photos of the store here at their
web site, and for you regulars Ill be sharing more
of the photos I took soon.

First chance I got I did a little something of my own.
Its distressed to give the feel that it is truely an old
piece then I waxed and polished it till it was shiney smooth.
I edged the seat with bright white trim,
and added a single button to embellish the back.
My instructions for button tufting can be found here.

Just a simple update of this cute desk.
It has a single pedestal with 3 good sized drawers and pretty handles.
Ive lined all the drawers in this shabby chic damask paper.
It has little hints of yellow peeking through.

I just finished up a fun pair of bedside tables.
(FRONT LEGS) - I bought a broken antique table, ... okay let me start that again.
I paid money for a dozen little pieces of wood that used to be a table with pretty legs.
There was no top and in the end I was fortunate that I found all the other pieces but
I didnt know when I handed the money over.
(CABINET) - The body of these nightstands were a part of a cute set I purchased on Craigs list.
Not my usual playground but they worked perfectly for my plans.
The ceramic and metal knobs I brought back from our time on vacation.
The drawers have a great decorative arched detail on the face.
(BACK LEGS) - I finished these cabinets off with another set of legs on the back side
from a simple Bombay stool cut in half.
You can also find a side by side before and after pic here.
