SHES A PRETTY SECRETARY pink secretary desk

Shes a looker alright!
The hardware is ANTIQUE with protectors on the inside of the drawers.
A metal cap fits over the post and nut to protect the drawer contents.
But I hope you didnt think I found her this way, you know me better then that.
I built the upper portion for this simple maple secretary using two discarded cabinet doors,
and some lumber from a kitchen table I recent stole the legs from.
It is secured with metal rods on the back side and can be unscrewed to separate.
She has a larger then average pull down at 16" deep,
thats why I chose this piece to work with.
The pink is a blend of pure white and emperors silk ASCP and waxed with minwax natural.
Everything displays great against the soft pink,
and its a fun color to have peeking through the glass doors.

Little secretary chest

I have been super busy lately! So much going on! But, I did manage to get his one finished before everything started. I have just been too busy to post it!  I picked up this solid maple chest with a pull down secretary.  I mixed my own cp for the outside and used CeCe Caldwell's "Slate" for the inside.
The top was sanded and stained a dark walnut/jacobean and sealed w/a satin poly.

REVIST creamy white secretary

Originally built back in the summer of 2010,this is a desk I made to look just a bit better than when it started.
The bottom was a regular drop front desk needing a fix or two, however I built the top part from several salvaged pieces.
I built this piece while working a full time regular job, many late nights and early mornings. All done in the middle of my little kitchen.
The main body of the upper cabinet was a old shelf that I customized.

- the doors are from another hutch unit.
- appliques were bought at a yard sale.
- vintage hardware from a discarded cabinet.
- crown molding was free on a local internet recycle site.

I used tongue and groove boards on the back of the upper cabinet,
salvage from a water bed headboard.
